Today I made my first repeat pattern for a funky screen printing studio called Frinton Press. They have a yearly wrapping paper design competition, and I stumbled on to their call for entries just a couple days ago. Here is what I submitted.
I know there's an easy way to do it on Illustrator or Photoshop, but my googling skills were just not up to the task and I couldn't find a tutorial. But I did find this wonderful analog how-to by illustrator Julia Rothman on the Design*Sponge website, which you can see here.

Stationary
Finals week is always crazy, but it's even crazier when you're designing all of your branding! This class is really preparing me for life as a freelance illustrator. It's pretty exciting. My postcards came in a few weeks ago and my resume, stationary, and business card are finally done.
Here is the logo I designed that will go on my stationary.
I had even had a stamp made of this little dude.
I'm also finishing up the design for a fortune teller I'm making that will go out to art directors. Tomorrow I'm screen printing the design and folding it up. And then I'm done...?

It's the end of the quarter and things are getting really busy! Here's a little doodle from my sketchbook.

Fish Birds
Today I made fishbirds. They're going to be part of a screen print I'm making. I'll post it when I finish. Enjoy!
